After nearly one year of negotiation, Poncha Springs Trustees annexed the 600 acre Friend Ranch to the town on Monday.  The former cattle ranch will be developed into an 18-hole golf course and about 580 housing and commercial units.  In addition, plans call for a club house, resort hotel and restaurant, spa and fitness center, tennis courts and swimming pool.  The developer is a well known and experienced designer.  This is the area's first 18-hole course, and I expect it will change the face of Salida.  Soon, lots will be for sale with prices starting at $75,000.  My husband Dale and I have already reserved  a lot.  We are "pioneers," considering this a good investment and possible home site. Contact me if you'd like more information or wish to make a reservation.  Leslie Walker, Broker/Owner, 866 539 1041 toll free
