The word on the ground is that the Salida Dog Club is negotiating for land for a centrally-located dog park.  This would be good for the owners, who appear very bored when walking their pooches. I, myself, am too old and cranky to run around with a bunch of whippersnappers!  The club is seeking members at $15 year.  Contact club president Laura Pintane at 719 2503.   I was glad to hear that dog poop was at a minimum at the recent club cleanup at Franz and Sand lakes.  Two fun summertime activities are the annual Arf-Walk, with competitions and adoptions, and the 4th of July Parade, featuring canines in costume.  Again, "orneriness" prevents my entering these events.  Yours in barks, Estes
