The Caddis fly hatch is underway on the Arkansas River. These flying-ant sized insects signal "dinner time" for the trout.  The anglers follow-hungry fish, hungry fishermen.  According to a local expert, the leading edge of the hatch will progress to Buena Vista by Mother's Day.

In other fishing news, catch the nonprofit Recreational Boating and Fishing Foundation database of 10,000+ fishing locations at www.takemefishing.com.

Other river news takes place May 26-27 as the Colorado Art Ranch Artposium holds "A River Runs Through It" in Salida.  The artposium explores how rivers inspire arts and shape history, culture and environment.  For information on the main stage speakers and workshops, contact www.coloradoartranch.org.
